Morocco: USA Thanks Morocco for Gaza Aid and its Support for Biden’s Plan\ Newslooks \ Washington. In a recent announcement, the United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, conveyed the gratitude of the United States to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for Morocco’s significant humanitarian contributions to Gaza. This expression of gratitude comes amidst efforts to secure an enduring ceasefire and the release of all hostages in the conflict-ridden region.

Matthew Miller, the Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, issued a statement on Monday detailing a telephone conversation between Secretary Blinken and the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita. “The Secretary conveyed his gratitude to King Mohammed VI for Morocco’s humanitarian contributions to Gaza,” Miller stated.

During the conversation, Secretary Blinken underscored the critical importance of Morocco’s support for President Joseph R. Biden’s proposal. This proposal aims to achieve a lasting ceasefire in Gaza and is seen as a pathway to building a more integrated, peaceful, and stable Middle East region. “The Secretary emphasized that the proposal would greatly benefit both Palestinians and Israelis,” Miller noted. The initiative is expected to allow a surge in humanitarian assistance into Gaza, enable the return of displaced persons to their homes, and kickstart international reconstruction efforts.

Both officials agreed on the necessity of continued close coordination to advance peace and security in the region. This conversation highlights the strong diplomatic ties and mutual commitment to peace shared by the United States and Morocco.

His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who serves as the Chairman of the Al Quds Committee, has previously instructed the deployment of a humanitarian food aid operation for the Palestinian population of Gaza and the Holy City of Al Quds. Notably, Morocco pioneered the use of an overland route to deliver this aid directly to the beneficiaries, a first since the outbreak of armed hostilities in the Gaza Strip.

This large-scale humanitarian effort underscores the dedicated commitment and ongoing concern of His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the Palestinian cause. The Kingdom of Morocco has reiterated the importance of President Biden’s proposals, which aim to facilitate a lasting ceasefire, ensure access for humanitarian aid, protect civilians, enable the return of displaced persons, and support the reconstruction of destroyed areas.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates expressed hope that all parties involved in the conflict will adhere to this initiative and commit to implementing its various phases. This collaborative effort between the United States and Morocco represents a significant step towards achieving peace and stability in the Middle East.
