Sylvester Stallone‘s wife Jennifer Flavin Stallone has filed for divorce after 25 years of marriage.

The petition was filed last week in a court in Palm Beach County, Florida, where the couple owns a home.

She is seeking exclusive use of their home in Florida — they own another in California — and has asked to have her name changed back to Jennifer Flavin. She also is asking for a greater share of their assets, alleging the actor deliberately squandered money that should be available to her.

Stallone has yet to file his response to the divorce petition, and an email to a representative seeking comment was not immediately returned.

The couple’s three daughters are all adults, so there are no custody issues to resolve.

Sylvester Stallone, 76, star of the “Rocky” and “Rambo” franchises, married Jennifer Stallone, 54, a businesswoman and former model, in London in 1997.

They had dated for several years in the late 1980s and early 1990s before breaking up and later reconciling.

It was the third marriage for Sylvester Stallone, who was last married to his “Rocky IV” co-star Brigitte Nielsen from 1985 to 1987. It was Jennifer Stallone’s first marriage.

Movie star Sylvester Stallone has revealed the real reason behind his divorce from his long-term partner Jennifer Flavin.

Before the former model filed for divorce, the pair had been married for 25 years and recently celebrated their anniversary in May. When the divorce news made the rounds, the duo were speculated to have split due to their arguments about getting a Rottweiler for the family.

Stallone wanted the canine while Flavin opposed it, which led to several arguments about each other’s failings. They did have disagreements, but per the “Creed” star, it did not spur the divorce.

Flavin’s reason for filing for divorce was more profound than her and Stallone’s heated arguments about owning a Rottweiler. Per the publication, the duo, who had been married for 25 years, simply drifted apart and could no longer boast of their previous connection to each other.

“We did not end the relationship on such a trivial argument,” Stallone said “We just went in different directions.”

Throughout their careers in the film industry, both celebrities have accrued millions of dollars and purchased several assets for their family. Because of the lengthy bureaucratic process required to divide such assets, the divorce proceedings may take some time to be finalized.

However, fans of the duo can assume it would be done amicably, as Stallone seems to have no grudges about their split.

He added, “I have the highest respect for Jennifer. I will always love her. She’s an amazing woman. She’s the nicest human being I’ve ever met.”

Stallone replaced the tattoo of Flavin on his right arm with one of a canine. Many people had assumed that the alteration was made because the “Rocky” actor wanted to get rid of his ties to Flavin, but he corrected such speculations with the publication.

As per TMZ, Stallone admitted that the 14-year-old tattoo had begun to look a little stale and that he had visited his regular plug to have it refreshed. The process did not go as expected, as the tattoo was messed up while it was being worked on.

Stallone then decided to change the image of Flavin to that of a Rottweiler to fix up the tattoo and not due to any ill intention towards Flavin. The actor also revealed that he still has a large tattoo of his estranged wife on his back as additional evidence that he held no grudges against her.

A week ago, Flavin filed divorce papers in a court in Florida, making a move to end her marriage to Stallone. News of her action surprised fans who had followed the duo over the years and even watched them mark their 25th wedding anniversary.

Flavin accused the actor of “moving assets from marital funds” in the court papers. For this reason, she also sought an injunction from the court to stop him from moving assets while the divorce proceedings were still ongoing.

The court doc read, “Upon information and belief, the Husband has engaged in the intentional dissipation, depletion and/or waste of marital assets which has had an adverse economic impact on the marital estate.”

It also further states that Flavin wants Stallone to be “enjoined from, selling, transferring, assigning, encumbering, or dissipating any assets during the pendency of proceedings.”

The court docs also revealed that Flavin wants to retain their Palm Beach Home and requested an order to keep Stallone out of it. While the pair are working on the divorce, they will continue to be in each other’s lives as they share three daughters: Sophia, 25, Sistine, 24, and Scarlet Stallone, 20.

It’s unclear how the ongoing divorce will affect the family’s upcoming reality show set to debut this December on Paramount+. The showrunners have also revealed no details about whether the split will be documented on the reality series.

Neither Flavin nor Stallone have publicly addressed the divorce on their social media pages since it made the headlines. However, they both dropped cryptic messages that hinted at it but are still keeping it all low-key for now.
