Judge Arthur Engoron has dismissed former President Donald Trump’s plea to postpone the finalization of a $355 million civil fraud judgment. The decision was communicated to the attorneys of both Trump and the New York attorney general via email on Thursday.

Once the judgment is formalized, Trump will have a 30-day window to appeal, during which he must secure the full amount of $355 million, plus an estimated $100 million in interest, either in cash or through a bond.

The judgment had yet to be published on the court’s website by late Thursday. Judge Engoron, in his email, stated that Trump’s team provided no valid reason for the requested 30-day extension. He expressed his intention to approve the judgment proposed by the New York attorney general’s office, highlighting that Trump’s legal team had not pointed out any inaccuracies in the state’s documentation.

The ruling, which found Trump and his two adult sons guilty of fraud, also prohibits Trump from holding an executive position in any New York-based company for three years, with a two-year prohibition for Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump.

Both sons are mandated to pay $4 million each. An independent monitor, appointed in 2022, will continue for at least another three years, with the directive to suggest a candidate for the role of independent compliance director for the Trump Organization.
