King Mohammed VI of Morocco , chairman of the Jerusalem Committee, has issued his royal directives to launch a humanitarian operation that involves the provision of food aid, by land, for the benefit of the Palestinian residents in Gaza and the Holy City of Jerusalem.
A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad mentioned that this aid, coinciding with the onset of the blessed month of Ramadan, aims to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, especially the most vulnerable groups.
Thus, the aid ordered by His Majesty the King, for the residents of Gaza, consists of more than 40 tons of food supplies, including basic foodstuffs. The same source highlighted that, in addition to institutional support to be provided particularly through the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, His Majesty the King, has graciously taken on a significant part of the aid provided, especially those directed towards infants and young children, from his own personal funds.
It was added that since the outbreak of armed operations more than 5 months ago, Morocco is the first country to transport its humanitarian aid through this unprecedented land route and deliver it directly to the beneficiaries.
On another note, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, chairman of the Jerusalem Committee, has issued his royal directives to the Jerusalem Agency, to provide food aid to the residents of this holy city, which includes the distribution of 2000 food baskets benefiting 2000 Jerusalem families, and the provision of 1000 meals daily for the benefit of Palestinians in the city. The aid also includes the establishment of an emergency coordination room at the Jerusalem Hospital.
The statement concluded that this major humanitarian operation for the benefit of the Palestinian people affirms the real commitment and ongoing concern of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, chairman of the Jerusalem Committee, to the Palestinian cause.
