Oasis Reunion Tour: North American Dates Announced — Quick Looks

Deep Look

Fans of Britpop legends Oasis have reason to celebrate as the band officially expands their highly anticipated reunion tour to North America, ending a 15-year break and marking what appears to be a truce between the Gallagher brothers. The news comes just a month after Oasis announced their U.K. reunion tour, which quickly became one of the most sought-after live events of the decade. On Monday, the band announced that they would be bringing their show across the Atlantic in 2025.

The news of the North American leg was shared with the band’s signature bravado. “America. Oasis is coming. You have one last chance to prove that you loved us all along,” the band wrote in a statement, hinting at a long-overdue opportunity for North American fans to witness the iconic group live once more.

The first set of North American dates includes five major stadiums: Toronto, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and Mexico City. The band then announced additional shows in those cities—adding second nights in Toronto, East Rutherford, and Los Angeles after seeing the initial overwhelming demand. Only Chicago did not get a second show. American rock band Cage the Elephant will open for Oasis during their North American dates, adding even more star power to an already exciting reunion.

The tour kicks off on August 24 in Toronto, followed by other major cities, before wrapping up in Mexico City on September 13. The announcement follows a period of excitement and frenzy for fans eager to see the Britpop legends return to the stage, particularly after such a prolonged hiatus. Oasis, known for timeless hits like “Wonderwall,” “Champagne Supernova,” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” has been absent from North American stages since 2008, leaving fans desperate for a reunion that once seemed impossible given the acrimonious relationship between brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher.

The road to the reunion hasn’t been without challenges. Oasis initially split in 2009 after years of mounting tensions, with the final blow being delivered just before a scheduled performance at a festival near Paris. Since then, both Gallagher brothers have continued in the music world, albeit separately, with their solo ventures. Despite years of rumored tension, the two have decided to set their differences aside for the reunion tour, something that seemed improbable to many longtime fans. Though they haven’t performed together since the split, both Liam and Noel often included Oasis tracks in their solo concerts, keeping the band’s legacy alive.

Last month, when tickets for their U.K. reunion dates went on sale, fans were met with error messages, hours-long online queues, and the challenges of dynamic pricing—an approach by Ticketmaster where ticket prices fluctuate in real-time depending on demand. Many fans expressed frustration over the chaotic experience, especially as ticket prices surged to unaffordable levels for many. Learning from the tumultuous response, Oasis’s management has taken a stand against dynamic pricing for their North American leg. In a statement issued Monday, a spokesperson for Oasis management confirmed, “Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing model will not be applied to the forthcoming sale of tickets to Oasis concerts in North America.”

The statement elaborated, “When unprecedented ticket demand (where the entire tour could be sold many times over at the moment tickets go on sale) is combined with technology that cannot cope with that demand, it becomes less effective and can lead to an unacceptable experience for fans. We have made this decision for the North America tour to hopefully avoid a repeat of the issues fans in the U.K. and Ireland experienced recently.”

With this move, the band hopes to create a fairer ticket-buying process for their American fans, who have eagerly waited for the chance to see the legendary group live on stage again. Tickets for the North American shows are scheduled to go on sale Friday at 12 p.m. local time. Registration for the presale ballot ended on Tuesday, leaving those still interested to try their luck when general sales open. As part of the presale, prospective buyers were asked a trivia question: “What year did Oasis last play in North America?” The answer, of course, was 2008—a reminder of just how long it’s been since the band graced American shores. For the U.K. presale, fans had to answer another bit of Oasis trivia, recalling the name of the band’s original drummer, Tony McCarroll.

The reunited band’s return to North America is not just about rekindling nostalgia; it’s also about proving to fans and critics that their music is timeless, capable of bridging the gap across generations. Songs like “Live Forever” and “Morning Glory” have left an indelible mark on music history, and their reunion tour presents a rare opportunity for younger fans who missed them the first time around to experience Oasis live.

The Gallagher brothers have always had a reputation for being outspoken, their feuds sometimes overshadowing their musical talents. But with the announcement of this reunion, fans are choosing to focus on what matters most: the music. Noel and Liam, once considered one of the most notorious sibling rivalries in music, have decided to come together again for the sake of Oasis, their fans, and perhaps even their own legacies.

For those hoping to catch the Britpop giants in action, the confirmed North American dates are as follows:

Oasis’ North American Tour Dates

  • Aug. 24: Toronto
  • Aug. 25: Toronto
  • Aug. 28: Chicago
  • Aug. 31: East Rutherford, New Jersey
  • Sept. 1: East Rutherford, New Jersey
  • Sept. 6: Los Angeles
  • Sept. 7: Los Angeles
  • Sept. 12: Mexico City
  • Sept. 13: Mexico City

The upcoming tour marks a major milestone for the band and their fans. Whether it truly represents the final chapter of Oasis or a new beginning, one thing is clear: their music remains as powerful and influential as ever, and fans on both sides of the Atlantic are thrilled to witness their triumphant return.
